As a fashion market editor for Marie Claire, Brittany Kozerski had a pretty good handle on which swimsuits were best—and knew there was room for improvement. Enter JADE Swim, the line she launched in 2016 with the goal to create minimalist suits that work on and off the beach. Made with luxe Italian fabrics, her designs also work as body suits paired with jeans or linen culottes. The techno-fabric features shape retention technology that offers UV protection, and is resistant to chlorine, lotions, and oils—perfect for all water activities, too. Of course, in order to get JADE exactly right, Kozerski had to do lots of research, by way of beaching. Fortunately, that’s an area she’s already well-versed in. Here, she shares her all-time favorite beaches around the world, from Thailand to Mexico.
I went to Thailand for my boyfriend’s birthday and Koh Samui was one of the islands I fell in love with. Incredible beaches line this absolutely stunning island. We stayed at the W Retreat Hotel which has gorgeous villas directly on the beach. The hotel is also known for their floating lounge which has a once-in-a-lifetime sunset view.
I had never been to a more picture-perfect vacation spot until I went to Bora Bora one December to shoot for JADE Swim. Turquoise water, white sand, beautiful flowers, huts with glass floors—what more is there to say. Every beach is flawless but I especially loved the beach at Le Meridien for the luxe hammocks, day beds, and water activities.
I love Tulum, but Sayulita is my new favorite beach area in Mexico. It has a surf culture vibe with vibrant colored buildings and outdoor markets. I had the best fish tacos of my life here after my first-ever surf lesson. There’s a shopping area right off the beach with amazing smoothies, acai and poke bowls, and handmade goods. Be sure to do a day trip to Marieta Islands, which is basically an underwater volcano—yes, you read that correctly!
My boyfriend and I come here every year because it has the most gorgeous white sand beach. The sunset here is amazing and they offer horse rides along the beach. We rent a boat and make a day trip out of it when staying in St. Martin or St. Barth—absolutely worth it.
Best beach for a great time. I’ve been going here for years to celebrate different occasions and it never disappoints. Indulgent food, every kind of drink, live music, and a flawless beach to lay out on. I also love that there are great boutiques nearby to take a midday break to for some shopping in.
